Day #4

I am sooooooo tired. Today was not a good day :(

So we all woke up at around 7 am and started getting ready for the day. Three of the girls woke up even earlier to head to The Hobbit place but the rest of us stayed behind because the trip to the Hobbit place cost more than $100 dollars and well ain't nobody got money for that...lol

So Jess and I decide to hit this shop and eat some breakfast before heading out on our next adventure.

9:30 rolls around and we are ready to depart... or so I thought.

After much much much confusion and adjustment of plans we decided to leave a van behind (with most of our bags) for the girls who went to see The Hobbit site and we decide to take the rest of the vans and the rest of the group to some other activity (Zorbit I think it was called). It was pretty much someone throwing someone else down a hill in a huge inflated ballon (like a hamster ball).

Side note: 30 seconds... wait for it...$30...ummm really?! I told a few girls that if they wanted a better deal I could choose another hill and chuck them from it for $25 and they would even have the option to hit a few posts and rocks on their way down. They laughed but I was 50% serious lol

So NOW we are done. We have gas we ate food. We are ready for our four hour trip to Wellington which is the next place we are staying at.

As we are driving we see the biggest lake in New Zealand! It seriously looked like an ocean. It just looked endless... Here are some pics of the lake...

                                                                      Aubry and me

                                                                         Shelby and I

                                                                             Little me

                                                                       Greg and me

                                                                            Me AGAIN :)

Along the way we also decided to stop by

And went on an small hike. And this time it REALLY was an easy hike (Paola you know what I mean) and we saw this amazing waterfall. Look...

  It's sooooo cold

Ok enough ...let's go!

You may have noticed that I was smiling in the pics above... Well not for long. Apparently, I get serious motion sickness!!!! Like so bad we had to stop by the side of the road so I could throw up... Ops sorry TMI

I was so lucky I was able to trade cars. I mean I don't want to blame it on the driver but Dr Petersen is well and interesting driver haha. Also the roads are like a maze WHO wouldn't get sick?!

It's 9:30 pm and I think and we are ready for another food break. Also in case you care... all through out this trip we have been one with nature if you get what I mean.

So we stop by in well who knows where and we have fish and chips. Ok I am so done with fish and chips! So apparently the restaurant would not let us use their chairs because we bought food to go instead of food to eat at their place. So we sat like bums on the street. Witness my new low... Lol

                                                                Straight bums y'all!

Now we are done and I'm ready to leave my money and my pride behind! lol

After this, I can't really remember anything else because I just knocked out until we arrived at the hostel which is where I'm at now.

When we arrived we realized the girls from The Hobbit van had not yet arrived. Honestly, no one had a clue what happened to them and most of our stuff where there so many of us were well perhaps not in the best mood. Thank God that right after we had our spiritual thought and prayer for the night we got news that they were ok and would be arriving soon! I'm glad because my pants were dirty and I wanted my suitcase. Ok enough whining.

So the place. Not too shabby although there are a few drunks. Luckily most of our area is filled with our group (pretty comforting for sure). Now I'm ready for bed so I guess that's it.

But before I leave you all I would like to say two things I learned today...

1) unity: today we separated for most of the day. I cannot imagine how scared the girls in the van must have felt because they should have arrived a long time ago but they still haven't arrived. No money for gas and no directions honestly in a new place could be scary. I realized this could have all gone smoother had we worked together, communicated better and planned better.  Which takes me to my next lesson learned today...

2) Organizing: seriously if we were to be more organized we would be more effective. Today it seemed like we flew by the day just doing things as we went. I am not one to stick to plans but today I realized the importance of making plans and sticking to them. Being organized does not only help the day run smoother but it gives everyone the opportunity to enjoy the day as well.

Hopefully this doesn't sound too negative. Either way I'm ready for my time here in Wellington NZ until tomorrow!

Good night!
