Day #13

My morning started out rough. I had back to back nightmares all night :( so it took my body a while to adjust. But I'm glad it only lasted an hour or so and then I was ready to go!

So at 8:30 ish we met our tour busses outside and headed out to the Blue Mountains...

It took about an hour and half to arrive. Our guide Glenn (a name he says he HATES) was so funny and really smart. He knew a lot about Biology and even some historical facts. Just a super cool dude even though half of the time it was hard to understand his Aussie accent. Sorry Mate!

As we arrived, he took us around to see a few different locations within the perimeters of the Blue Mountains. Can I just say I have never EVER seen such a beautiful scenery before?! Just look at these pictures...

After we saw a few sites we had a quick lunch and headed back out. This time to a hike of our choice. The first hike seemed intense. It was 1000 steep steps and a 45 minute walk up and down hills which came out to be an hour and some change. The other choice was more of a leisure hike which I was all about also because of my knee I didn't want to push it. BTW my knee was doing a lot better today which I was very happy about!

So Mary, Jess and I decided to all go on this leisurely hike. Here are some of the pics we took...

Can you see the gorilla face?

Most of these places are definitely much prettier in person but a las we must work with what we have :)

After we were done with our hike and Jess was done trespassing and getting attacked by parrots we were ready to head back.

Now if you don't know this about me yet I HATE roller coasters!!!! Like I just can't do them. No there was no roller coaster at the end of the hike but in my opinion there was something worst. It was a train that would take us all the way up where we had to meet our your guide so he could take us home. Also we HAD to take it unless we wanted to walk up again which there was no time and I just didn't want to.

Man my legs were shaking so bad! Maybe half of it was due to the hike. Leisurely?! Yea right! But seriously I was panicking.

This was Jess, Mary and I waiting for the train...

                                                                     Jess, Me and Mary

Notice my face! Pure fear y'all!!!

So I was freaking out big time ESPECIALLY when I saw that the train went up instead of down.

It looked something like this...

Now imagine this train going up a super steep hill. Seriously I was screaming the whole time... At one point I thought I was going to fall. There was no seatbelt or anything. But don't worry I made it alive!!!!

I did record my experience in case anyone wants to watch it with me and have a good laugh. :)

Then Glenn or his favorite nickname DJ  took us to this Japanese home where he had Herbal Tea, Orange Juice, Hot Cocoa and desserts for us! He was so surprised when we told him we didn't drink tea or coffee but he was so nice and respectful and he even went out of his way to accommodate us. A stud for sure.

So after we finished there, we were finally ready to go back home. For most of the ride I felt asleep so I can't really tell you much there... only that at one point I saw wild kangaroos but I couldn't take a picture because they were too far away. Sorry :(

So we arrived home at like 6 ish and Angie, Franklin, Maddy, Jess, Mary and I went grocery shopping. Also did I mention I am determined to have a home cooked meal at least once a week. Like for real! Fruits and veggies too.

So what did I do for dinner? A chicken mushroom casserole. However, I was not a fan. First, the diary tasted weird probably because diary is different here and second, the oven! It sucked! Like I waited for a very long time and it never really cooked my food like I wanted it to but who cares. Jess and Maddy liked it so that's all that matters.

After that we did a bit of clean up and I talked to my sister Ana Banana. I can't believe how much I miss her. Also I can't believe tomorrow is my birthday. I am going to be 2* tomorrow!!!!! Awwwwww...
Also, I can't believe I will say that for my birthday I was in Australia. I mean seriously how jealous are you?!

All in all today was pretty good. There was some rough patches here and there but over all I think it was a great day!

Now I'm off to bed.

Oh wait before I leave I need to let you know of two things I learned today...

1) While I was on the scary train there came a point when I nearly lost control of my seat. I really thought I was going to slip and die! But I noticed a handle car behind me and I held on to it for dear life. As soon as I held on I knew everything was going to be ok even if I didn't know when I would be arriving. This made me think about the gospel. There will be times in my life when I will have doubt but as long as I hold on I will arrive safe and sound to my destination that being the celestial kingdom.

2) We must stand strong when we confront difficult situations. For example today the whole coffee thing with our guide. He didn't understand but he respected it. Often people will not agree with Mormon doctrine or even our values but when we stand firm they will see that. Standing for our beliefs can always become a very good missionary opportunity and even just a valuable opportunity to influence others for the better. I just loved this experience a lot...

Well Mates I shall see you tomorrow.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!

Xoxo
Your traveling Soul.
