Day #18

Today was not super exciting because I had to stay home and rest my knee.

So I woke up with everyone and as everyone was leaving I decided to buy some internet because well 12+ hours at home alone can drive anyone mad. Plus I couldn't really go out and walk around because I was supposed to be resting after all.

So after everyone was gone, I talked to my sister Maggie and Ana for a bit and it was exactly what I needed. Maggie said some very encouraging words that gave the boost I needed. Our relationship is so interesting. If we talk once a year that is quite a lot. But every time we get together we always have something to talk about. It's like time and space didn't matter. I really love it. Man I miss my sisters. They are awesome, special and unique. I don't really know where I would be if I didn't have my sisters and my whole family at that. They have influenced and shape me in so many ways.

After talking with my sisters I decided to update my blog and I added a few new pics!!!! Check them out!!!! So Greg has been taking a lot of awesome pictures during this trip (although I won't admit that to his face hahaha) and he was so kind to let me use them for my blog. So if you see some pretty rad pics they are his and he should get all the credit :)

After that, I had some lunch and talked for an hour with my other best friend Joseph.

love that kid. He always keeps it real with me and I love it. My favorite part of our relationship is when he hates on me hahaha. Joseph don't hate that I'm in Australia right now hahah

Today, while I was on Facebook I got a message from my African Queen Paolita saying that my very best friend Nadine sent me a package for my birthday.

I can't believe she sent me something when she is on a mission! I'm so thankful for her and I don't think I would have made it through some times in my life if she wasn't there. Nay nay I love you and can't wait to see you in 10 months!

Ok you may not believe this but blogging literally took me ALL day! Granted I got distracted a few times but wow! By the time I was done I was so done with blogging. Hahaha

After a while, I decided I should shower and as soon as I step out I notice it's pitch black! I may have not mentioned this but the bathrooms here are separate from the room. Like several steps away. So at night it can be a bit scary but I'm toughing it up out here I will admit though that I have never showered that fast hahaha. I am loving this experiences though because I'm learning so much. Not just about myself but also just about life. It's awesome!

That was pretty much my day. I'm sorry it's not that exciting but it was definitely something I needed since I had pushed myself too far the day before.

So two things I learned today. Yes I did learn something today ahaha

1) Family; We may not always understand our family. We may even find ourselves criticizing them. But every member in our family is important. With time and much maturity, I have come to learn how to  become more appreciative of my family. I'm so thankful that even after all the pain and hurt we have managed to move on and come closer. I'm forever thankful for my family and I can't wait to see them in just a few weeks.

2) Friends: I have been greatly blessed to have the friends I have. Growing up I struggled a lot with bullying and feeling unwanted. The more I faced that type of hatred the more insecure I grew. Then I met Nadine when I came back from my mission. She has been a TRUE best friend. She has been there for me through the good and bad times. And I mean that in the most literal sense. She has been my rock. Joseph is also a great blessing because he has been able to help me see my true potential. And let me not forget my BFF/BF Britt. He started out as a really good friend. A person who listened to me and who would be there for me when all I wanted was someone to hold me. I am forever grateful to my Heavenly Father for giving me great friends. Great friends that have withstand time and distance.

I love you so much Nadine, Joseph and Britt.

So I guess if I can sum everything up I would say 1) let's me more appreciative of the people we have In our lives. Even if the relationships are rocky they are there for a reason. 2) let's make more of an effort to show our love towards one another. Let's not just post it on Facebook or assume they know it. Let's show it!

I truly love each one of you all and I'm sorry if I've lacked showing it. Be safe and continue to enjoy life!

Xoxo
