Day #2

Bye Auckland... Hello Rotorua!!

Well today was exhausting and well kind of scary.

First we met up with Ana Hakaria and her friend Saara. They took us to a few cool places as seen below.

Sadly, my group and I needed to check out of the hotel so we came back and said our good byes to Saraa and Ana :( It's ok though. I had a lot of fun and laughed quite a bit. Here is a pic of us before we parted ways.

So this time Angie drove. But it was not good. Not good at all (sorry Angie). She would speed and then hit the brakes hard. I had such a bad headache but good thing Aubry had "Dramamine" (which is ironic because before I left the states I saw a funny video of Dramamine: the miracle pill (y'all should look it up!) Any who it worked immediately!

Then we stopped at a gas station and ate.

So today ended up just being a free day.

We arrived at Roturua and unpacked all our stuff at the hostel. Which in my opinion was pretty cool. Can't complain although I know I wouldn't do this whole hostel thing alone. Way sketch.

After we were all done we decided to hit the local market around the corner. It was way cool. There was food from all over the world and random stuff too. I had Thai food which was... Alright. I even got this tattoo.

Since we were full and there was not much else we decided to explore the local hot springs which umm just keep reading...

First, it was soooo scary and I'm glad we didn't stay long! The place was in the middle of nowhere and I was not about to get in when it was pitch black and empty ummm no! I was like yup this is how scary movies are filmed. Seriously we could have filmed the whole trip and turn it into a scary movie. It was that intense.

Anyways, the group minus me and a another girl got in for like 10 minutes cause no surprise to anyone the water was cold (aka that was NOT the hot springs). So they got out and we left. Thank goodness!!!

After everything we were ready to call it a night. I know at least I was.

So a few things I learned today.

1) Talking to strangers is not always bad. I met this woman at the market she was selling homemade jams. I had a blast talking to her and hearing her talk to us about her product and just a little but about herself. Honestly, everyone has a story and they they are all eager to share. We all just have to make the effort to ask and listen.

2) If it don't look like it... it's probably not it! The hot springs where definitely not where we were. We could have been seriously hurt or worst stranded in the middle of nowhere. Precautions and safety is key in anything we do in our lives. If we are not smart about things we can get seriously hurt. Which is what happened to one of the girls in the group. Apparently, she banged her leg on something and bruised it pretty bad. So in others words be smart!

That is all for today folks!

Have a wonderful night :)
